Tell me what's happening

You don't need to know the name of the visa. You might want help with a visa, want something specific looked at, be hiring or supporting a migrant worker, or have a letter, decline or deadline from Immigration New Zealand (INZ). Whatever your situation, start with one short message.

Already working with VisaPlex? Reply to your existing correspondence where you can. Explore NZ visa options if you'd like to look around first.

What to put in your message

Tell me what's happening in your own words. Then add the actual dates, not "soon": when your visa expires, when a letter arrived, or when a response is due.

If it helps, add a little more for your situation:

  • Something you want looked at (any visa topic): say what it is and why.
  • Employer support: say where you're up to — for example accreditation, recruitment, a job check or a worker's visa.
  • INZ letter, decline or deadline: give the type of letter, the date it arrived and the date a response is due. Please don't send the letter itself yet.

You don't need to have everything worked out. A few clear sentences and the actual dates are a good start.

Please don't send documents yet

Whether you use the form, email or WhatsApp, please don't send passports, medical records, bank or financial records, private relationship messages or evidence, or other sensitive documents.

If documents are needed later, sending them is arranged separately.

Send your first message

Choose a topic if one fits, or choose "I'm not sure". Then write a short summary with the dates that matter.

The enquiry form is currently unavailable. Please use the email, phone or WhatsApp contact details.

VisaPlex uses the details you send to reply to your enquiry. Read our privacy notice.

An enquiry is just the first message. It doesn't mean we've agreed to work together, it isn't an application to INZ, and it doesn't stop an INZ deadline or extend your visa.

If you decide to go ahead

The help you need and the fees are agreed with you in writing before work starts.

INZ makes the decision on every application.

The IAA explains what to expect from a licensed immigration adviser.

Prefer email, phone or WhatsApp?

You can also use these for a first message, for example if the form isn't working:

Please don't send sensitive documents this way either.

VisaPlex is based in Palmerston North.

Quick answers

Is sending an enquiry the same as hiring you?

No. An enquiry is just the first message (see the form). See what happens if you decide to go ahead.

My visa expires soon, or INZ has given me a deadline. What should I do?

Put the actual date in your message (what to include). Sending an enquiry doesn't stop an INZ deadline (see the note at the form). Do not wait for a reply from us before taking action on a deadline.

Can I send my passport or other documents now?

Not yet. See what not to send with a first message.

When are fees agreed?

Fees are agreed with you in writing before work starts (if you decide to go ahead).

I just want to know where my application is up to.

INZ can help with that directly: contact INZ. INZ may ask for your client number, application number or passport number. Give those details to INZ directly, not through the VisaPlex form or VisaPlex email, phone or WhatsApp channels.
